Product Description:I’m a man of many sentimentalities when it comes to skateboarding, but the first and foremost of those warm, fuzzy memories will forever bereserved for Ray Barbee.Ray’svideo debut came in 1988via Powell-Peralta’s fourth official video release,Public Domain, and heinstantly became one of my favorite skaters and completelyaltered the way I approachedI mean, heck, who am I kiddingwishedI could approach street skating. Mind you, this was still months before I’d even set permanent foot in California, so when I finally took up residence as an in-house artist for Powell-Peralta and met Ray well, let’s just say his personality was as equally great as his skating. So it was truly anhonor to do the artwork on hisfirst pro model in 1989, which just so happened to bemy first original deck graphic as well, making for a very unconventional break in the company’s chain of legendary VCJ graphics. The “Rag Doll” went on tobecome a thread of sorts that would connectRay and I throughout the years, but he’s since now officially joined the Krooked team roster, aka Gonz territory.Fortunately I was able to get all the necessary ducks and blessings in line for one last run at the Rag Doll with Rayforanextra-special, one-time guest model on StrangeLovethis particular one celebratingthemyriad versions of the Rag Doll that I’ve drawn for Ray throughout the years.Cliver
